Megan & Alex | The Woodlands Wedding (Part 1)

Megan and Alex were married at St. Anthony of Padua a few weeks ago. Here are a few photos from the start of the day. Megan got her beautiful wedding dress from Brickhouse Bridal. After the ceremony, we had some extra time before the reception so we stopped and did a portrait session with the group at a park. More photos to come from the reception at The Woodlands Resort!

Jessica & Robbie – Houston Wedding Ceremony

Jessica and Robbie were our first wedding of 2010 and it was a great way to start off the year. We started off the day at Jessica’s mom’s house where she was getting ready with her soon to be sisters-in-law.

The ceremony took place at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. This church has some really beautiful stained glass windows.

I wanted to get a few detail shots of the rings before the ceremony so I went to find the best man and discovered he had tied the rings to his keychain so he wouldn’t forget them. He said he knew he couldn’t leave the house without his keys so it seemed like the perfect place to keep them. Hmm makes sense!

Elly & JD Wedding – The Woodlands United Methodist Church

Elly and JD had their ceremony at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. This church is one of my favorites for two reasons; the chapel has huge windows which let great light in and it’s close to home. JD had warned me at their engagement session that he is not a big fan of PDA. So of course before the ceremony I had to tease him a bit by asking him what he was going to do when the pastor says “You may now kiss the bride”. After the ceremony we had some time do a portrait session with just Elly and JD, so we took the opportunity to do some photos outside. Also check out the pictures of the rings I got in the chapel…. these are some of my favorite ring shots!

The Woodlands Resort Wedding – Allyson & Joey

Allyson and Joey were married at The Woodlands Resort. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony. We worried about the heat and super sunny skies at first, but as usual things went perfectly smooth. We got a break from the heat for a few minutes with cloudy skies over the golf course, so it was great timing for me to get some romantic shots of just Allyson and Joey. These guys were so great to work with and we’ve had best time with them right from the first time we met. A few words about the 4 great girls they have – these girls LOVE to dance! I don’t think they left the dance floor all night! It was awesome. I wish I had their energy.

The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Wedding – Julie & Scott

Julie and Scott were married here in the Woodlands and had a great reception at the Waterway Marriott. The weather worked out great for us so we were able to do a few pictures outside at the church as well as a few at the hotel. The reception was fun and Julie even coaxed her brothers onto the dance floor. At the end of the night Scott had a surprise for Julie for their big good bye… a romantic carriage ride.

Carine & Eddie Engagement

We had a great engagement session with Carine and Eddie but first a little personal moment…

My friend Aaron threw out a good question to me last night: “Do you remember the day when you just took pictures because you loved doing it?” At first I felt like I was put on the spot and my first thought was to answer “I don’t know”…Then I thought about it a little bit more and you know what, it is everyday. I am not one of those photographers that takes nature or still life pictures because it looks pretty. I take photos of people because that is what I love to do. It is great job and every now and then I need to take a step back and think about how great it is.

Sooooo….. onto Carine and Eddie, we had a great time doing their engagement pictures at the studio and we took a TON of great photos. Thor (their dog) was a little wild but we had fun with him all the same. We also did a few pics with some of the crazy old farm equipment that is around studio since Eddie is from New Jersey and he wanted to get some pics with kind of a Texas, rustic feel. So here are the photos, enjoy!

Also we have revamped the blog again, and by we I mean Rica, so please let us know what you think and leave comments.

Allyson & Joey Engagement

Allyson and Joey were referred to me by my friend Graham. This was an engagement session, but we started with a few family photos of them and their girls and we got some pretty fun ones. After the family session, some friends of Allyson and Joey’s took care of the girls while we walked the park. We had a great time with a lot of laughs mostly at my expense or Joey’s. They also put up with me while I tried a few new lighting techniques. Allyson and Joey are such a fun couple, and I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding at The Woodlands Resort.
