Scott | Crossfit The Woodlands

This past summer my buddy Aaron with 31Films called me up to help them out with a shoot for our friend Scott. Scott runs Crossfit The Woodlands and needed a promo video to showcase what crossfit is. Aaron headed up the project with the help of Joey, Kevin (in the drivers seat) and me. At the start of the shoot I was the stand in for Scott’s running scenes, after all we are kind of built the same. The promo turned out pretty sweet, all the props go to Aaron for some great editing and Scott for being able to run and keep up with a car.

31 films hard at work…

PS: Girl scout cookies are back and I may have bought the troops whole supply.

Christie & Martin Engagement

The good weather days seem to be few and far between this past couple of months. (It might snow on Friday?! Really?) But during Christie and Martin’s engagement shoot we had one of those few nice days. I arrived to the location a bit early and as I was waiting I saw a stylish couple come into the park. They turned a quick left and went to the other side where there was another photographer. Needless to say this was my couple and they had went to the wrong photographer first. Anyway after a good laugh we started the session. We ended up at Crush wine bar, which is their local hang out, to shoot a few photos there.

Jennifer & Joshua Engagement

We did Jennifer and Joshua’s engagement session out by the Woodlands Waterway area. It was a really nice, but slightly cold day! Thanks to them for being such great sports about walking all over the place with the cold wind blowing! Can’t wait for the wedding next month at The Houstonian.

These guys have the most amazing eyes!

Carrie is a friend of mine from back in high school in Willis. It was great seeing her and her husband and their two fun kiddos. Carrie even brought her dad & mom for the session. Her mom was my younger brother’s 1st grade teacher…. small world in Willis! So here are a few pictures from their session – which was planned to be outdoors but the sudden freezing temperatures brought us to the studio instead. What is up with this cold weather!?

Jessica & Robbie – La Tranquila Ranch Reception

Part two of Jessica & Robbie’s wedding! They had their reception at La Tranquila Ranch in Tomball.

Their wedding cake by Sweet Delights looked so good as soon as they saw it they wanted to dig right in!

Their DJ – William Everett had everyone out on the dance floor. The kids especially loved getting out there!

Jessica & Robbie – Houston Wedding Ceremony

Jessica and Robbie were our first wedding of 2010 and it was a great way to start off the year. We started off the day at Jessica’s mom’s house where she was getting ready with her soon to be sisters-in-law.

The ceremony took place at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. This church has some really beautiful stained glass windows.

I wanted to get a few detail shots of the rings before the ceremony so I went to find the best man and discovered he had tied the rings to his keychain so he wouldn’t forget them. He said he knew he couldn’t leave the house without his keys so it seemed like the perfect place to keep them. Hmm makes sense!

Kristi, Eric, & Parker

I am so glad that cold front is finally over. I feel like I was cooped up in the house and at the studio far too long! Now that the weather is nice again we can shoot outside. Last weekend was one of those fantastic weather days and we met up with Parker and his parents at the park. The little man was all smiles from the start and then….he took a tumble. He was doing so good sitting up on his own and laughing and then I think he laughed to hard and fell over and took a bump on his noggin. I felt so bad, but after a few kisses from mommy Parker was back to all smiles. Kristi and Eric got a kick out of watching me roll around on the ground and getting in the bushes to get the perfect shot…. here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Help Haiti

So I have to be honest, I have not been paying that much attention to the coverage of the earthquake in Haiti. Lately I have just been focused on the business and getting ready for 2010. I have been trying to figure out which workshops I wanted to do with some of my favorite photographers at WPPI. I have been waiting and saving to do a workshop with one of the best wedding photographers- Mike Colon. I have been so self involved with trying to get the money together for these things I have been ignoring the destruction and pain that people are going through. So last night I stayed up late watching Anderson Cooper’s coverage of the disaster. It was heartbreaking watching the people and to see what they are going through. It is amazing that they are still pulling out survivors from the rubble. It also amazing seeing how many countries have come together to help. After seeing the coverage I felt embarrassed. Here I am worried about luxuries and all these people out there need essential items like water and food. So with this post, (partly being inspired by a fellow photographer http://www.kellyleephotography.com/) I am going to donate $1 for every comment. Please pass this on.
