Jacob

Jacob is two!! We started off the session at home with Jacob and his two dogs. They were all really cute together. It was a bit of a challenge getting everyone’s attention, but we made it work with a few treats for the dogs, a few M&M’s for Jacob, and of course the help of the talking Elmo toy. Afterward we headed to the spot Jacob called ‘the forest’ which was a bush and some weeds I think… and we even got a few shots with the Houston skyline.

This year Allison wanted to do a big family picture with her in-laws. She brought her family as well as her husband’s parents and sisters family. I think she was trying to test me with 4 girls under the age of 4. Do you know how hard it is to hold the attention of one child much less 4? I mean, I do have a great personality but I had to work really hard for this shoot! After the session was over I got to meet the cute 12 year old Hunter (the dog). So of course he had to get his photo taken as well.

Abbey & Ryan

Abbey and her husband Ryan came to the studio with their dog Turner for a session. They have been married for a few years and wanted to get some updated photos. Abbey is a natural in front the camera and you would think Ryan would be too with his sister being a photographer, but it a took a little to loosen him up. Turner was a bit of a handful, but I think that he was just excited to run around all the land at the studio.

Matt and Monica brought in their little boy Jacob for his first studio session. As many kids do at the studio, Jacob froze a bit in front of the camera. That was until mom and dad put him on his back and made faces at him, and then he had all kinds of laughs. They also brought their cute boxer Molly. I love when people bring their dogs to the studio but I think my dog Cooper gets jealous.

Emily & Jonathan…and Perry

Emily and Jonathan were the second of six mini-sessions that we did for Images for a Cure. They came to the studio with their cute little pup Perry (I wanted to steal him for our pup Cooper). Now even though they don’t look old enough, they have already been married about a year. They are a great couple and made the session fly by with the great smiles and laughter. Jonathan and Emily – if you ever need some one to watch Perry, let us know!

PS: On a side note about dogs. Do not watch Marley & Me. It is a great movie, and was very sweet, but the end is a cry fest. I would like to think that I am manly but I have got to admit this movie was a little rough.

Furry Friends Photo Op

Not many times in a dogs life does the opportunity come around for a professional photo session… unless you are our dog who is constantly having his photo taken… but for the next 18 doggies, they got to donate some food for our furry friends in need and get some great pictures! Thanks so much to everyone who came out. We collected 20 bags of dog food, and one bag of cat food (thanks Holly, cats need love too!)… and every dog that came out got a treat bag! Looking forward to doing this again next year… hope you can make it!

Madison – HSPVA Senior

I always wanted to be a ballerina… but trust me…no one wants to see me in a pair of tights! j/k Madison is actually a ballerina and she attends The High School for The Performing and Visual Arts. I’ve always admired HSPVA for supporting the arts and one of my favorite photographers, Mark Seliger, is an alumni from that school. So last week Madison and her mom came by the studio for her senior portraits and brought with her two little furry friends. I’m a big dog person so I love it when people bring their dogs with them for photos – I actually bring my dog Cooper to work with me everyday. He loves it. =) Also on the topic of our furry friends – we are hosting an event this Saturday October 10 at our studio to get food for dogs/cats in shelters and you can see more info about it here.

So back to Madison’s pictures – we started the session with a few ballet moves outside. Madison’s smile is very contagious and we had a great time on the shoot.

Weekend of Giving… October 10-11, 2009

So this October we’ve decided to take a weekend away to do something to give back.

If you know us, Rica & myself, we are big time animal lovers. Our dog (Cooper) is pretty much our baby. He goes to the studio with me everyday, just like he has a job to do himself. He clocks in everyday and is paid in doggie treats. =) So on Saturday October 10, we are doing a “Furry Friends Photo Op”. Bring in a bag of dog/cat food to donate to the Humane Society of Montgomery County and we’ll give your furry friend a 15 minute photo session and an 8×10 print!

If you don’t have a pet, no worries we have something for you too! On Sunday October 11, we will be participating in Images For A Cure. We will be doing 30 minute “mini-sessions” throughout the day and 100% of the session fees and 50% of all the package fees will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.

Sarah & Aaron Engagement

We met the super cute couple Sarah and Aaron at the studio this past weekend to start their engagement session with pics of their dogs Winnie & Tucker. These two were a handful, I mean the dogs not the couple. One dog is fairly easy for me to handle, but two was interesting! But we still got some cute shots of them. After the studio we headed to downtown Conroe and the heat followed us. Downtown Conroe was fun considering it has been a couple of years since I shot there. Anyway the session went well and we got some great shots and wore out poor Aaron with the heat.

Johanna & Joe Engagement

Summer is upon us and the days are getting HOT!!! This engagement session was on one of those days. We met Johanna and Joe at their house in the Heights. It is really cute and has a great front porch so we started there with some pics of them and Luna the dog. Then we headed all around the Heights for a few more spots. There were a ton of locations to shoot but I did not want to wear out the couple so we just picked a few of best places. We finished up at an old opera house with one of my favorite shots. Johanna and Joe were a lot of fun and a great couple to photograph.
